The Firm obtained a six-figure judgment in federal court for its client, a specialty online retailer, after one of the retailer’s main competitors unlawfully used its copyrighted material. This six-figure judgment represents the latest in a string of recoveries for the Firm’s client, which faces pervasive misuse of its intellectual property.
The Firm continues to facilitate business relationships between local real estate investors and community banks. This month, the Firm was successful in closing on multiple commercial investment properties for our clients.
The Firm’s Commercial Litigation Team won a decisive victory for one of its business clients in a fiercely contested landlord-tenant dispute. The Firm was able to demonstrate, at trial, that the tenant had fully complied with the terms of the lease and was entitled to remain in possession of the premises, and the Judge agreed. This victory allows the thriving business to continue to operate, providing jobs to its employees and service to the community.
DuPage County Bar Association Speaking Engagement
John Risvold will speak to the DuPage County Bar Association on September 19th about how to select the best nursing home for your client, family or loved one. He will focus on educating attorneys on how to identify the signs of nursing home abuse and neglect, how to tell a good nursing home from a bad one, and what steps attorneys can take to ensure that the rights of nursing home residents are protected.
