Sterigenics Environmental Contamination
The Firm is currently investigating potential claims against Sterigenics in Willowbrook, IL on behalf of dozens of families. Sterigenics emitted a cancer causing chemical, ethylene oxide, into the air of the surrounding community for 34 years. The resulting increased cancer risk became known to nearby residents just this past summer. Our attorneys are representing individuals who have contracted cancer or who have lost a loved one to cancer, after years of exposure to Sterigenics’ toxic emissions, in their fight for justice and accountability.
Business Litigation Results
The Firm completed an Asset Purchase for a national franchisor adding new locations to the Chicago based client.
The Firm’s filed a Motion to Dismiss on behalf of a national client, headquartered out of state.The motion was granted with prejudice. The underlying suit filed in the Northern District of Illinois, Federal Court, asserted claims alleging that our client misappropriated its competitors trade secrets.
The Firm successfully litigated a non-competition suit against a former employee of our client, resulting in the entry of an order enjoining the employee from competing against our client for twelve months.
Welcome New Attorney, Margaret Galka
We are happy to welcome Margaret Galka to the Firm. Maggie lives and grew up in LaGrange, IL. She attended the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT where she earned undergraduate degrees in environmental studies and political science. Maggie graduated from Vermont Law School in South Royalton, VT in May 2018. While in law school, Maggie focused her studies on environmental and energy law. Maggie will be sworn in and admitted to the Illinois Bar on November 8, 2018.
